Woodbine Just Misses

Jul 07, 2017

Woodbine Miss was just nosed out of a win at Murtoa last week (pictured in yellow cap), going down in a photo finish.  Nonetheless, she was gallant in defeat and has continued to show her toughness, at her ninth run for the campaign.

Sadly, our gallant stayer Desert Samurai sustained a career-ending injury in trackwork last week, and has been retired.  He regularly competed above his class, and matched it with open-class horses at a high level.  "Prince" was rarely far away, winning & placing in 14 of his 25 starts and earning $77,870 for his career.  He'll be missed around the stable.

Larrikan Prince arrived from NSW in great order, and will have a brief spell before kicking off for his new stable.  The son of Not A Single Doubt looks to be a tough little sprinter, and there are still a few places available in him before the paperwork transfer goes in.

Bold Approach impressed with a trial win at St Arnaud this week, easily winning by 4L.  He has returned from his break in great condition, and will be kicking off his campaign in the coming week.

Zoot Suit Riot goes to Echuca on Monday, in a strong race.  He will no doubt be flying home and has a great record at the track.

We have a few returning to work and progressing well, with Tycoon Roxy, Arapaho Alidor, Eco Road, Amaretto and Easy Best all ticking along nicely.  Plenty to look forward to in the coming months!
