New Season, New Faces
Aug 23, 2017
As we commence the new racing season on August 1st, we have quite a few newcomers on the scene at O'Neill Racing.
We have two new Not A Single Doubt tried horses, including the very flashy Not So Precious (pictured). Both he and Larrikan Prince are going well in their preparations and will be at the races soon.
Big stayer Eco Road trialled this week, building fitness as he heads towards his stable debut over further. Amaretto has been hampered by the wet tracks but with spring just around the corner she is also ready to trial and race soon after.
Easy Best is ticking along well in his return from injury. He was a last-start winner and we are looking forward to having him back.
Hard Spun filly Holy Stilettos is a half-sister to a former O'Neill Racing favourite, Excell Shoes. She is out of a half-sister to Bold Approach, and it's great to have another member of this talented family in the stable. She's just kicked off her preparation and has a couple of shares remaining in her for anyone interested.
Love Conquers All 2yo colt "Gordon" has just finished his breaking in preparation and will have a short break before returning to the stables. He's grown into a lovely type and we're very excited to have him, along with several other promising youngsters.
Zoot Suit Riot has had a brief letup but is due back at the races next week, with a Mildura trip on his radar. Along with Bold Approach and Woodbine Miss, the seasoned horses should continue to race well for us as we head into spring.
On a final note, we have Chacella and Strange Lady ready to foal any day now (both to Oamaru Force) and Warm Embrace also due (to Lucas Cranach).
We'd like to thank our hard working staff, horses and loyal owners for the support over the last racing year, as we look to build on results and returns in the 2017/18 season.
